Building a More Inclusive Future for Chicago’s Evaluation Field
The Pathways Initiative is a program and collaborative to strengthen the diversity of the Chicago area evaluation field by increasing the recruitment, training and retention of culturally responsive and equity-focused evaluators of color in the Chicago region. The next emerging evaluators cohort will begin in February 2026. Fall 2026 to be announced.
Program Structure
Pathways offers two cohorts each year:
Spring cohort beginning in February
Fall cohort beginning in September
Each cohort includes six weeks of interactive workshops followed by eight weeks of optional one-on-one evaluation coaching.
Program Impact
Since its launch, the Emerging Evaluator Program has:
Supported 6 cohorts
Graduated 51 participants
Served 44 organizations
Who Should Apply?
Open to evaluators of color reflecting the diversity of the Chicago region—including African American/Black, Latina/o/x/e, American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian American, Middle Eastern or North African, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and/or multiracial (ALANA). Applicants should be providing evaluation or data support in their organizations with little or no formal evaluation training.
